Onda revalidates first place as the municipality with the greatest transparency in the Valencian Community

  • The InfoParticipa portal of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona gives the Consistory a 100% score in its evaluation
  • Bou: "This is an achievement resulting from our work to be accountable and promote good public communication practices"

Onda revalidate the InfoParticipa stamp such as municipality of the Valencian Community with the highest level of transparency. The Ondense City Council has obtained a 100% score in the evaluation of the seal, satisfactorily fulfilling the 52 items required by the audit. The corporation exceeds all the requirements in the three blocks under examination: information on public representatives, data on the municipality and the management of collective resources and tools offered for citizen participation.

The councilor for the Innovation area, Vicent Bou, has declared that “this is an achievement resulting from our work to be accountable and follow good public communication practices”. Bou considers that "citizen participation is one of the pillars of the operation of this corporation with the aim of making Onda an increasingly open and transparent city for the public”.

InfoParticipate is a label promoted by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona together with the Government of Spain, which is in charge of assessing the transparency of city councils in various parts of the territory. The results of each locality can be consulted on the web mapinfoparticipa.com.

The Consistory of Onda It has a transparency and open government portal in which to search for information on data of various kinds such as hiring, budget information, services and remuneration, and declarations of elected officials. All data is hosted on transparency.onda.es.

Excellence in transparency

City Council Onda adds the InfoParticipa awards to other awards in this field. Last year it won the prize for transparency and the promotion of the participation of the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP) for involving citizens in the Local Waste Management Plan.

In 2020, the project 'Onda towards an intelligent city' received an award at the XII Aslan Awards in the category of open data for citizens. The National Association of Technological Companies (Aslan) awards these prizes to successful cases in Digital Transformation in Administrations and Public Bodies.
