More than 35 companies from Ongo show the world their innovations in ceramics at the Cersaie fair

  • The mayor of Onda supports local brands and initiates works to improve industrial zones
  • Ballester: "We want our entrepreneurs to continue championing the challenges of the sector and adding competitiveness"

A total of 37 firms from Ongo will show the world during this week the most avant-garde trends and ceramic innovations in the International Tile Show of the Italian fair of cersaie. The mayor of Onda, carmina ballester, has shown its support for local brands with a visit to the stands in which it has congratulated the businessmen for continuing to bet on a product that identifies the hallmark of Ondenses, such as ceramics.

Also, the first mayor has highlighted: "The history of Onda It goes hand in hand with the evolution and growth of Ondense companies that have always shown their commitment to innovation and talent retention”. It should be noted that the ceramic sector in the municipality directly employs more than 2.200 people and indirectly employs thousands of others.

However, Ballester has shown his concern about the current situation that companies in the sector are going through in the province of Castellón: "It is not fair that the central government leaves employers aside and put thousands of jobs at stake ”. "We need immediate action so that companies can continue to innovate and employ so many families," he said.

It should be noted that, in the ordinary plenary session in September, the City Council of Onda gave the green light to an Institutional Declaration, addressed to the Government of Spain and the Generalitat Valenciana, which required the implementation of new measures to help alleviate the effects of the increase in the price of natural gas.

Improvement of industrial estates

In parallel, Ballester has announced that the municipal government team is going to continue promoting the development of industrial estates and has activated an improvement plan with the aim of modernizing them and providing companies with the best infrastructure and services. In this sense, the City Council has added $1.221.800, which are added to the almost 2 million euros invested during the first half of 2022.

Among the actions that are going to be carried out in the coming months, the change of lighting to LED technology, the installation of flow and pressure regulators, the improvement of street signage and identification, the creation of a circuit of cameras connected 24 hours a day with the Local Police; and the construction and refurbishment of a new eco-park in the Sur-13 industrial estate.
